360 mtrs, Sump & Oil System
« on: January 30, 2007 - 05:06:54 AM »
Hey guys I need some more info :1zhelp:
Are all passenger 360 car oil pans the same, that is are they centre sump?
What truck 360's will fit E body vehicles?
What motors ( 360 or any other SB) had a right angle oil filter adaptor?
I have just been looking at a couple of sites checking out various items I might need. I have also a friend in a junk yard in Oklahoma who is looking out for various items for me I was hoping to give him as much info as possible.  :bananasmi
I am trying also to find a "308" headed 360 and as these have the No. inside the valley area I don't think he wants to rip off too many inlet manifolds to find one, so, can anybody supply with some kind of certainty what years, makes & models had these motors? or are there any other identifying No.s?

I am also warming to the idea of using a Magnum mtr but am not sure. May end up being a little more expensive for little gain, any comments? :dunno: After all this is only a street cruiser and won't see any track work. My son-in-law wants me to bring him back a 360 as well for his Aussie Valiant so I may get one of each if price is right.

I am aware Ma MOPAR slipped in different things at different times making life interesting for us who are looking.

I am coming over soon for 3 weeks but my wife doesn't want to spend all that time outside junk yards, very strange, she married me for the better. :2thumbs:

Thanks Once Again In Advance

all Dodge trucks & vans 87-92 have the 308 head 360s & most are roller cam blocks as well , the # is under the rocker covers & ends in 308 , all truck engines use the rear sump pans but that can be easily swapped for a center sump car pan , only 360 engines can swap pans though , the 318 & 340 use a smaller center sump pan
The oil filter adapter is avaiable separatly & would mainly be used in earlier passenger car applications but will bolt to any la block
