Anyone restore seat tracks?
« on: February 03, 2007 - 11:51:58 AM »
Has anyone had their seat tracks restored?  Mine don't slide very good, and the passenger side is completely frozen.

Thx

Mine were not in bad shape & I was just going to clean them up & repaint but as usual once I took them apart there were issues to deal with. The grease had hardened completely & required lots of mineral spirits to dissolve. There were some ball bearings missing, I was able to pick up replacements from a bicycle shop and one of the bearing retainers was weak so I reinforced with a slice of plastic & epoxy. One of the rollers had locked & flat spotted so I did my best to get it back to round. After painting & reassembly they seem to work very well.

You can check my thread in the restoration section. I had SMS Mopar do my drivers 6-way seat and my Pass seat tracks. I think the 6-way was over 4 bills but I would have to check and the Pass regular seat tracks were $125. Funk Brothers also do them but there turn around time is pretty bad (2 months now for the hood and trunk latches for my car) SMS Mopar doesn't advertise the track on their site but call them they will do anything.
