Yea I will most likley set it up in access once we have the reports with the information we want in them. I used excel because it was simpler to do up the example.

I think this looks good from the outside perspective...

On the Database side, how were you thinking of storing all the info?

I was thinking of maybe doing it based on fender tag codes, etc. plus whatever additional information that you can't get from the codes.. like rim blow, etc... You can get info like CID from the vin, etc... We'd just need to create tables that would define all of these options.  

I think the more information we can get, the better...

That way, when someone is registering, it's easy for them. They can just click check boxes next to all of the codes they have on their tag, and then enter any extras/mods they have, the vin, photos, year and location.

I think the easier we can make it for people, the more likely they are to enter their vehicle into the registry.

Also, if we store all the information this way, then it makes it easier to search too.  Someone could basically come in and choose model, year, fender tag options, colors, etc. and then see all the cars that match their selections.

I was thinking that I would store the info under the first 7 didgits of vin, year, model and style.
The info would first be sorted by the 7 characters of the vin. Then the sort would be on year, model and style.
Your idea for using a click and point system on fender tag codes is good except what if the car has the fender tag missing or there is no buildsheet.
This way they have options of where to get the key information from, fender tag, vin or build sheet.

I think the registry is a wonderful idea.  I have put my info on the barracuda conv registry. I would love to know how many exist and the options on them.  I think that most would give their fender tag codes as long as personal info is not involved.  I would also, though, like to be able to access the infor.  So far, I can't find out how many '71 Barracuda conv. are still out there and how they were optioned :'(.
