SIZE Matters
« on: February 04, 2007 - 05:30:16 AM »
Okay so now the resto mod 70 challenger has 11.75 Wilwood disc brakes all around

stock wheels obviously do not fit

I assume the collapsible wheel in the trunk is not an option

I was told maybe other collapsible / blow up wheels may fit ??

What have other members done since converting to bigger brakes and aftermarket wheels - have 18 billet specialities wheels now

Thanx

I assume that you tet fit a 15" wheel.  Is it the caliper that is causing the problems?  How about a 16" wheel for a spare?  I know that it is kinda large, but it may be more managable than an 18" spare.

Have you tried a space saver from a Caravan or Mustang... lug pattern works .

I have a 98 Caravan & 98 Mustang. Both have the 4.5" bolt pattern but should be the same for all 5 lug caravans, voyagers, town& country & 94-2007 mustangs(hub size could be an issue).  There could be backspacing issues but as narrow as the spacesaver spares are I would think it might just work. I can take measurements if you want.

The early minivans had 5 x 100 mm (4") so make sure yu know what you've got before you pay for it.

great info so far, yes the calipers come in contact with stock rim spares,

i was told that the mustang may fit as I want to customize the trunk, put the air ride compressor system in the trunk for the air bag suspension & still have room for the golf clubs (just joking)

need room for small bags for the power tour
