Okay CCC brain-trust. Here's a question that's a little outside the box.
I have just bought new tires for my 04 QC Ram. I wanted to upgrade the size and went with Kumho Ecsta STX 305/50-20 on the stock wheels. They were highly rated, fit fine and look way cool. Unfortunately, they ride like crap. At first it was poor balance at 45 mph and up. Rebalanced not once but twice, including weighting the tire to mimic being on the road. Still has a rough ride above 70. The wierd thing is that it comes and goes. Sometimes it's super smooth, then it feels like I've thrown a weight. The tire shop says it's because the tires are so heavy and I should go back to the stock size. Is this BS? I looked up the weights and they're 49 lbs. vs 44 lbs. stock. Doesn't sound like much difference.
I'm trying to determine if I should change tire or size. Is it the shocks? Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.
