:working: somehow mi car is almost a full inch lower on the driver's side... I think is the rear suspension.

Don't know how to "adjust" it or play with it..

leaf srings?... shackles?... shocks?..  what can it be?...  twisted frame??  .. or maybe just an front under arm graduation.?  :working:

thank you

The first thing I'd do is adjust the front end level, if you're still off in the rear it's probably springs.

I had problems adjusting my 72 chally....kept adjusting torsion bars... took a while for me to figure out that my garage floor was tapered for drain runoff...pulled the car out of the garage on a level surface and adjusted from there and all was fine...  :burnout:

What leaf springs do you have? If Super stock, then that is normal and it is deisnged that way to absorb torque and provide a straight launch.

thanks stroker and hp2...

since that's how i got the car I Don't know if SS... is there a way to know? any part nbr?

she's higher than normal on the back and I'd like to lower that rear and make the car parallel to the street, .. would stock leafs help me there? how about those spacers they sell to lower the ride?...

The car has the adj pinion snuber and I took the pin away so it;s at the lowest position.

Spacers will work, but I wouldn't do more than 1".  More than that and you can have too much axle rap up for hard launches.

New springs from ESPO ain't that expensive.  Might just want to get new springs.  Ask for the STOCK height as these usually are saggy looking anyways.  You still want a rake, so lower the front.

I put Superstock springs on my 72 challenger part#mopp4120865/4120866 (left&right) but what helped lower my car was the front springer hanger in the relo kit has an upper and lower mounting holes...of course I used the upper holes to lower the car..

the tires are 28" tall..........

Sounds like it's a good possibility you have the superstock springs. I have them on my Cuda and with the stock springs on the car there is not enough room for the adjustable pinion snubber, and with the S/S springs there is. The stock springs have a 22" front spring section, and the S/S springs are only 20". To determine what you have, measure from the center of the front spring eye back to the center of the spring perch.

I crawled under mine today to see what I have. The front section measures 22 inches, so I guess their stock springs. They have the #P4452984 and P4452985. The drivers side has 6 leaves and the passenger side has 5. Is this to help control wheel spin?

The S/S springs have an extra leaf on the right side and I believe the factory 6 Pack/Hemi springs did too. If yours has the extra leaf on the left side someone may have swapped them from side to side at some time. I don't have the references to look up those part #'s but I'm sure someone here does and will respond. Chryco can tell you which side the even and odd numbered springs should be on. I never could keep that stuff straight, CRS gets worse as you get older!

I understood that the HEMI cars has an extra on both sides...but that may be wrong.

6pak, those numbers are for the factory XHD springs, or Hemi springs as they are commonly called. The 984 goes on the right, 985 on the left. The are a biased design to control torque reaction during launch.

Banana, see the above posts for determining if you have stock, XHD, or SS springs. After 30 years, it could be any or none of the above that have given you your current ride height.
