Ignition Lock Replacement
« on: February 19, 2007 - 07:01:46 AM »
Looks like Ill be replacing the ignition lock on my 73 cuda steering column. It doesnt lock into the normal postions and just keeps spinning. Is there an easy way to remove this w/out tearing apart the coulmn. Looks like the only thing holding it in is that bent piece of sheet metal that creates a friction fit and maybe the spring loaded 3/16" dia button that comes out of it. Any suggestions???

Thanks
Dave

the spring loaded button holds it in place , bu tto get at it you need to disassemble the top of the column , the button is under the lock tab hold down plate

Thanks Crycho. I figured thats what I was gonna need to do in the long run. I think I might just rebuild the whole column while Im at it. Saw some detailed pics on from that LA Mopars that looks pretty good to reference.
