Parts commonality
« on: February 17, 2007 - 04:02:13 PM »
Hey all,

Just thought I would start the topic, and see where we can fill in the blanks.

As some of us struggle through our parts resources to procure some hard to find parts, I thought it would be worthwhile to post the parts shared between car lines. I have some scattered info, so please add where I am missing.

From what I have been told, there is a comprehesive list that exists for ALL parts common between body lines. E-Body and B-Body as well as A-Body (Duster/Dart)
The advantage is, you can find them from a B body and some A-Bodies easier and cheaper than an E Body.

Parts commonality some sheetmetal: E-Body 1971-74 and B body 71 +

front Floorpan
Lower firewall:
I have heard that the lower firewall is the same part. I am not sure about the lower cowl. I know that they are letter stamped differently to identify the body line - ex. E for E Body, B for B-Body.It might be good enough for a donor/graft.
lower A-pillar to lower cowl (L&R side)

Door inner sheetmetal - What the guts are connected to.This one I am not too sure on, but I have heard the guts are the same
door Hinges

Parts commonality - interior

Seats frames - structure only
seat rails
seat backs -plastic 71 up
Rear seats, minus foam trim

Floor console
A-pillar trim
Sun Visors
Seat Belts

Dash frame?
Steering column

Some of this is speculation, so PLEASE, kindly correct me if you know for sure.

Dan

One E body saved, 7 years and counting.
