Electrical surging

The headlights and gauge lights on my 71 Cuda brighten and dim as the engine surges (lopey cam).  Voltage regulator issue I assume?

Mopar has a more stable reg in the performance catalog
it is more likely just related to engine speed though , a smaller pulley on the alt could help too
