How to adjust door glass?
« on: May 06, 2007 - 10:00:35 AM »
Is there an adjustment for tilting the door glass in/outwards at the top?  The glass doesn't sit right against the door rubber and it looks like it should come inwards at the top.

I have the opposite problem. Mine comes in too far at the top. If I wind the window up while the door is closed, I can't get out because the door window gets caught behind the rear window strip.  :pullinghair: As you might have guessed, I have NO clue here.

Since i got my car I've been fighting the glass...   Be patient!! Take your time,i've re-adjusted 10 times or more... you get a feel for em'... :working:  The adjustment is on the bottom of the door for the angle.

The bolts at the bottom of the door are all the way to the end so I have no more adjustment.  I can try and move the rear window out a bit to make them look better but the door glass doesn't touch the rubber at the to corner??????

I'm sure you're aware that when you pull the bottom of the window track outward, then the top of the window moves inward.  If you're all the way to the end of the slot and it isn't enough, you may be able to lengthen the slot with a drill bit or something. Just a thought.

I have fiddled with the two brackets at the top of the door, that have fuzzies on them, that push out on the glass, if I go too far out the glass does not seal. You may need to let these in some.

I might slot them if adjusting the rear glass doesn't help.

Adjusting the rear glass didn't help.  I'll have to disassemble the door again so I can lift the mechanism enough that I can slot the holes.  There must be a better way.  I shouldn't have to do this????????

I just re attached the window to the track today on the 70' and I had the best results when I lostened all the brackets. Got everythig where I thought it should be. snug all bolts just enough allowing the window to find the right path. I first tightened the vertical tracks. top then bottom. The angle of tilt is controlled by the bottom brackets and the felt pads inside the window chanel.   I know its kinda vauge but it worked for me.

Yeah I'll have to monkey with it a little more.  The door glass misalignment is really bad.

I have the same problem but managed to get it better (but not perfect) by taking small steps and experimenting some. Now my worst problem is getting the power window on the passenger side to go up all the way. The clock spring came when I replaced the non-working motor and can't seem to figure out how it should go back in correctly. I have had it out 4 times so far but it still comes down very fast and easy but won't go up on it's own power. :hyper:
