Bought it in '87, still working on it! I've been at it so long my friends and family just laugh at me now.

Here's the engine bay. The engine is finally in and seated properly (I hope), the crane is just there because space is tight. I turn the engine over with a wrench once a week. I have about 6G in the engine. You can see the MSD box, my next job is to make a bracket for it.

Here's the interior. I had to cut a hole in the hump for the Kiesler transmission. The Kiesler guys swore up and down this wasn't necessary for a '72, but there's no way I could get the driveshaft angle right otherwise. After I get it on the road I'll figure out how to fashion a patch for it.

There was a little rust on the floor pans, which I took off with a wire brush on a die grinder, then POR15'd it.

My wife had a fit when it took my 5 years to restore my 70 Cuda. She would of moved out if I had been working on it since 87. Nice project so keep working on it so you can get it done. I'm sure by now the wanting to drive it thing has got to be killing you.

I`ve been in your situation too, took me 23 years(lol). As a matter of fact I know other guys whos been working on their cars for even longer than that, without being able to drive them.
Any way let them laugh, see who be the last one to laugh.
Nice Chally, keep up the great work  :2thumbs:

Yes, it is killing me to not be able to drive it. I watch "Musclecar" on TV, "Pinks", various youtube videos, "Drive", "Phantasm", etc., and it makes me nuts.

Glad to see I'm not the only one!

I watch "Wrecks to Riches" and just don't believe they can restore a car in 9 days and not have it be a slipshod piece of junk. It took me 3 weeks just to do the front disk brake upgrade.
