Got a DLP TV? (rant)
« on: March 11, 2007 - 03:07:21 PM »
Now I can't say this is true for all DLP TV'S.....  :swear: BUT Toshiba is one expensive date! Blub lasts about a year with average use and the best deal on the replacement I could find is about $200 bucks.   :banghead: What a pile of  $#!+  This tv is a little over 2 years old ...one bulb was already replaced under warranty!  The store we got it from service dept tells me thats about normal.... say what??? You think MOPAR parts are $$$ At least when I buy parts for NIKKI they last longer! Figure about $200 a year... keep the TV 5 years $1000 !!!   :villagers: The other thing that sucks is that the TV was from my mom for my 50th B-day! I can't tell her this a a pile of crap cause I know what she paid for it. Thanks for listening....  :faint:

I don't even know what a DLP TV is, so I guess I'm safe.

  Sorry about your trouble.

If you happen to be watching NASCAR there's been a few commercials for it already. Type of High Definition...

Yo Dudes! About 2 years ago I bought a DLP projector. Shoots the picture on the wall! How flippin cool is that. My picture is over 8 foot diagonal!
It goes from the top of my fireplace to the ceiling, about 5 foot vertical!
Awesome picture, HD, and I can play anything through it, even my computer and of course X BOX. Perfect picture BUT... 300 dollar bulbs that go less than a year! About 9-10 months.
I did 2 bulbs and it has been resting for about 6 months since it blew the last one and yes I'm steamed!
Nothing I can do about it at all. The name brand is "In Focus". I really miss it though!

I bet the bulbs are overheating. If you could help them stay cooler some how, I wonder if they would last longer? :clueless:
