swap meet
« on: October 12, 2003 - 11:11:30 PM »
Went to the "big" swap meet today with my 5 year
old daughter.
Looking around I didn't see very much mopar stuff
but I did pick up a stripped challenger door in decent shape for $30

I'm begining to think all the good car parts have been
exported to japan >:(

My daughter kept asking where are the other 'CUDAs
dad?
That door was the only E- body part there

I went to a car show / swap meet a few weeks ago, the only Mopar part there was a 4-spd console.  Oh yeah, I  snapped it up.  ;D

Seems like the only things at general swap meets are Chebbie, chebbie, chebbie !

As for Japan, I guess they buy up all our old cars / parts and melt them down and ship the steel back to us.  Man that sux !

I mean Japan..............
There's I guy in Tucson that snaps up all the desert mopar stuff. He told me once he puts a car together, he has no trouble selling the car in japan on line
He puts it in an ocean container with spare parts
and it's gone!

Clearly the folks in Japan have better taste in automobiles then we thought
He said he can get over $40,000 for late model E-bodys
with 340s plus freight

Is that right  :-\ Man he must make a good profit. Yeah they probably melt them then make rice out of them...... :'( That though is just to sad to think of. Thats why I'm glad to see guys out there picking the old Mopars up and restoring them for us to enjoy for years to come  ;)

I t is cool to be different  but there is a price , the "rare " camaros were produced in larger #s than the total production of all Challengers or Cudas in any given year !!

Yeah Chryco, that is sick how people think Camaros are "rarer" than E-bodies.  I just consider it a privilage to own an E-bod rather than the ever popular Camaro! 8)

I've always been torn on this question
On the one hand, if Plymouth had been able to
sell 200,000 340 'CUDAs a year then it would be
common knowledge that Camaros are a
joke

But then nobody would have bought the chevs

lucky for me my buddy had a 'CUDA to show me and
the rest of the brand x big blocks that they got no game
and he had only a stock 340 to whip us
