73 cuda rear bumper????
« on: March 16, 2007 - 08:47:29 PM »
My first car was a 72 cuda 340 pstlgrp 4 Speed. I sold it in 2001 after getting married. I just aquired a 73 cuda and the rear bumper sets off the body with a filler panel between. Is it a different bumper and brackets than a 70-72 ??? ??? Also I want to get rid of the "rubber baby buggy bumpers" on the front and rear bumper. what do I have to do? :working:

The 73-74's use a different bracket and the bumper has different holes for mounting if I remember correctly. You can remove the bumber guards and fill the holes with a regular bumper bolt but you will have the cutout on the rear valance below the guard exposed.

I want to use the bumper guards that are on the 70-72 I just don't like the big 73-74 bumper guards. So will I have to buy new bumpers or new brackets or both or shorten the existing brackets and get new bumper guards????? Please I need your help!!!

If you have the ability to shourten the existing brackets then all you should need is the 72 guards. If not you will need 72 brackets and bumper.

I changed mine on the 73 and had to find the proper brackets and buy a new bumper too.  :pullinghair:   But the end result made it worth it!   :dogpile:
