Horrible Wrenching Weekend

I am sorry to hear about all your problems. I thought I was the only one that couldn't get there chrome Thermostat housing from Mopar Performance to seal. Honestly I had that sucker off 7 times. grinding and leveling. I even ground the block side. I tried two gaskets and still leaked. Finally I bought some thick gasket material in a roll and used about hald a tube of permatex silicon sealer and it almost stopped. I still get a little drip from it now and them.
Good Luck with al your little problems but I am sure that once you start and drive that sucker it will be worth it !!!

Sorry for your problems Cuda.  Been there, done that.  If it was my project, I would make a list of everything you know is causing you problems with it right now.  Then I would prioritize the list based on which tasks are the hardest/most difficult to do.  I always do that and then begin with the hardest ones first and work towards the easier ones.  That way I always feel like I have the hardest part behind me and it gets easier as I move forward.  That kinda helps keep me motivated.

 You could give up and give me the car to finish up..........

    Every single time I touch my car....fix something....something else will pop up!  EVERYTIME!  Some of these cars have real personalities. I know exactly what you mean.  Even with the chrome thermo. housing. Everything that gets done is such a victory. I push myself all the time. I'm way too hard on myself. I got the fever!  Just wanted to say VERY NICE RIDE!!    Wish I could help!  Hang in there!!

Joel, When frustration creeps in, step back.  Take a deep breath and admire what you have done already!  The car is coming out AWESOME!!  Also, if you don't know the guys from that shop that built the Cuda, get whatever you agree to in writing. If they are 2-1/2 hours away from you, see if one of the members here is local to them and have your friend "drop by" every so often.  Long distance builds can be a nightmare.

great ideas, guys, i have considered most over the last 2 days, definitely getting rid of the chrome t-stat housing   , may do away with the stainless hoses for now to solve the bling issue and accomplish a few small tasks

really scared about the gvo system, but keeping my middle fingers crossed on that issue   

other than that, the water pump if disassembly is required so be it, the master cylinder issue, not rocket science, completing the exhaust and alignment not major   

so all n all, i needed to vent cuz i wanted to finish & go on the Power Tour, maybe next year, but I damn sure ain't going to be broke down on side of the road & spoil other people's day

the shop that did the pro-touring cuda is going to Mopars at the Strip next week, so my mechanic & i are going to go at the car for a few weekdays till April 4 when they return, hopefully we can kick some A$&, but if not, the other shop will complete the challenger in the same time frame by
May 30 for the Power Tour, yea baby (right!!) or i'll be doing some heavy
