Installed new energy suspension polyurethane LCA bushing & have a 1/8"-1/4" gap from front of bushing to shaft flange. Is this normal or a symptom of needing to trim the strut bushing down to lt it come forward?

sounds norml to me , there is usually a gap between the bushing the flange on the pivot pin
