I wouldn't get tired. I've seen very few Plymouth e-bodies since i moved here 12/73. I did rear-end a 70 Gran Coupe many years ago while in my first Challenger. Not a bad hit though as i was only doing 25 and decelerating; i was proceding in a turn lane when the Gran Coupe decided to switch lanes without a turn signal. He was missing his rear-view mirror and the police report faulted him for an illegal lane change over a solid white line. One of the rare instances where the person making contact from the rear (me) was not at fault.

"I know what you mean about the clones, however. It used to be that a Hemi-Cuda was a really rare sight to see, and when you saw one, you felt like you were in the presence of royalty. Now, you go to the big car shows, and see rows of them. Definitely cheapens it a little, and takes away some of the magic, but I still like looking at them, and wishing I had one."

"  I like to beat my own path in life rather than take the well worn trail so Mopars were the perfect fit for me.  You would never see me driving a "Camryo" Z28, too common.  In fact in high school I nicknamed them "clonemobiles" because they were everywhere and boring!  Sort of ironic that here 25 years later it seems like everyone is "cloning" many Mopars into hemis and 6 pack cars.  Maybe someday I will have an opportunity to own a stock /6 Challenger convertible so that I can continue to be unique. "

I think the point taken was before you would see a 318, 340 or 383 Cuda, now they are being cloned to hemi cars. :horse: I enjoy a cuda no matter what it is, and actually like a n original better than a clone, althought I would love to put a hemi in my car if I could afford one

I live in the Bay Area in N. Ca.. E-bodies are rarely seen on the road.
Don't think they originally sold a lot of them around here compared to the mid-west...maybe because the imports were invading the left coast first. :dunno:
Last week I seen a fairly clapped out Challenger on the 101 with a '73 ish rear and a '70 front...or maybe the whole grille was just missing.
Thats only the second e-body I've seen on the road in over a year (maybe several years) and I average close to 20k miles a year driving.
But I'm running mine up and down the 680  :burnout: regularly so others can see them.
The 440-six pack with the 3:23 definitely is a highway car. Scarey fast especially with excess play in the steering. Hits a 100 like that. Love that six pack sound and surge, kind of like a turbo the way you can feel it kick in and then drop back out.

Little off topic....My 11 year old son pointed out a '70ish Mustang coming at us yesterday and asked what it was and while it was still aways-away I said it was a Mach-1, but was surprised when it passed that it was actually a Boss 302. I hadn't seen one of those driving on the road in decades.

I just enjoy seeing the older cars. As far as a '71 hemi clone...my eyes aren't as good as they used to be so i can't read the VIN as they go by.

:iagree:  Me too.  Last 2 I saw on the road was in the mid '80s.  One of them was when I drove up into Canada on the way to Montreal from Vermont, about 10 minutes or so past the border.  Grabber Blue.

In the lot in front of it used to be a white '70 Superbird.  Was there for several years then disappeared.

One of the most desireable cars ever, how many can afford one unless its a clone?  One day I plan to do a triples black one for myself, probally use a 72-74 as a base

There were several 71 hemi cudas at mopars at the strip last weekend, both factory r codes and clones, but still plenty of other engine combo 71's, definitely not rows of them. What bothersme is when someone takes a factory BS, or JS car and turns them into a hemi car. there was a JS23N car in Vegas last weekend that someone dumped a hemi in. Now the car was beautiful, but I would have rather seen it with a 383 in it.
