65 and 66 info?
« on: March 31, 2007 - 07:37:59 PM »
So while browsing around on craigslist i stumbled upon a post about a 65 barracuda and 66 barracuda for sale for 1500 bucks. After emailing them asking if they had any info on the cars the wife replied " my husband bought the 65 to restore and the 66 to use as a parts car, motor is rebuilt and in storage, he never touched it after doing that, moving down south for work, just want them gone"

So my train of thought is, pissed off wife sick of looking at two old cars in her driveway, people moving need cash, i can possibly get my next resto project dirt cheap. im going there next week sometime to look at them both, she will only sell as a package, so it looks like im going to have to find someplace to stash them until i can get around to them.

So my question is is there any vins or fender tag combos to look for that might make this thing worth an original restoration in the future? Im going to knock on the door with 500 bucks, odds are ill leave with two more fish to piece back together. Any info would be appriciated, ill try to take some pics too incase they are really shot.

The only special thing I would know to look for would be a 273 Hi performance edition.  I do not know the code.  I do know if it is stock it will have valve covers with black fins on them.  It will also have one big chrome exhaust tip on the drivers side of the car.
