What is it? and where can I find one?
« on: March 30, 2007 - 12:32:36 AM »
:dunno:Can anyone Please tell me what the plastic cover between the  top of the rear bumper &  top  of the trunk is called? Mine is pretty much beat'n up & beyond repair. I've been searching parts catalogs & manuals but I can seem to find one. Also is there any way to repair these? Thanks in advance!!!

It's called a rear bumper filler panel. I don't know where you can get one. Maybe E-Bay?  :clueless:

The part that Bullitt99 has shown is the bumper filler panel, and it is available from Goodmark for $59.95 (part number 2120-850-702).  I just got one for my Challenger.

But the question from flores_57 is about a plastic panel, so I don't think he is talking about this bumper filler panel.  I cannot imagine any plastic panel between the bumper and the top of the trunk.  Is this for a Cuda or a Challenger?  Are you talking about some cover over the tail light panel?

If you have any pictures of one (on another car), that would help.

Well, it's good that the mystery is solved!  It is actually an EDP-coated steel part.

Watch the pricing, though.  As Bullitt99 mentioned, it is $184 at Sherman.  I called them to ask why (since they are local for me), and they could not explain it.
Goodmark has it for $59.95 on their webpage, but something like $180 in the catalog they mailed to me.   :screwy: ???

Check with Goodmark (or your local Goodmark distributor).   You should be able to find it for $59.95, like I did.

Good luck!

Tom I may be mistaken but I think the Goodmark piece is a rubber/plastic filler like my '73 Challey has, I think I remember moparal getting one .  Have you recieved a metal filler from Goodmark?

I think bullitt99 got the right part. It's made out of plastic/rubber cause mine's got holes in it. By the way, mine is on a cuda. Again thank you guys for helping me out :2thumbs:

What year is your car? My 70 has a metal filler panel that goodmark now repops. Didn't they add another different piece for the 72-74 cars that had the bumpers moved out from the body not sunk in like the 70-71 cars.

Mine came from Goodmark, and it is steel.  But, as you can see in the screenshot of their website in my earlier post, it is for 70-74 Challengers.  (Mine is a 70, and that steel part is exactly correct).

But now we know that Flores_57 has a Cuda, and I don't know what was on them, or if anyone repops it.  I wish I could help you with that one!  If you call Sherman and/or Goodmark, you should get an idea if it is available.

Flores_57:
I was sifting through parts on eBay tonight, and came across this.  Might this be the part you're looking for?

I am in no way connected to the auction, and I don't know the seller, but this looks like the part you're describing.
