A/C Vent restoration
« on: April 07, 2007 - 12:23:44 PM »
Does anyone know if anyone is restoring these parts?  Missing/broken blades etc.  These aren't uncommon on ebay but it seems that most of them aren't perfect.

I've also noticed on the passneger vent the pull flap handle has a little clip or something on the right side of the vent that I think holds the rod in place but I don't have the clip.  Does anyone know how this is put together and possibly could show a close-up picture of one?

Also, if one wanted to get the trim re-chromed, who would you contact?

Thanks.

Just a tip I read, 71-74 B-body uses the same vent sooo I guess even a Coronet Wagon could be a doner.

I need some new vents too, but these dont look quite right?  Unless the actual fins are the same?  Does the vent come off of the "finish panel" that you see, if thats what you want to call it?

I guess the louvers are what they mean ... here's the post
"Here’s the type of tip you’ll only find in Mopar Muscle. Do we scour the countryside looking for E-Body A/C vents? No. We just go to our local wrecker, and pull the A/C vents from a common 1971-74 B-Body. The vent louvers can be removed by pulling the pins on the outside pivots, then sliding the center pivot to the right and then left to remove them. The vents are a drop-in interchange. Take care not to lose the spring clips, which keep the vents from flopping down."

I have a broken 1971 vent, if someone needs a louver or three, let me know?

The rod is bent but the flapper door is OK. What do you need? It is still together as an assembly, but the outer housing is broken.

Barry, left, right, or middle vent?  I need the guts of the right vent, the housing is ok.  I need the case of the middle vent, the vent is ok.

This is of course, if peterro doesnt want it.   :2thumbs:

The broken one is the right side. Peterro gets first dibs I guess since he started the thread.

I also have a fully intact middle vent, also from a '71.

I also have the duct work that these two vents attach too if anyone needs it?

Will trade for used license plates, fender tags or broadcast sheets from parted cars or a slight fee plus postage.

Other interesting trades considered.

No need, if anyone wants them, go ahead.  I'm just trying to find out if and how they could be restored.  The ones I have are generally in ok shape.

Thanks
