New glass for E-bodies?
« on: April 08, 2007 - 02:38:45 PM »
I am sort of changing from a simple paint job(is there such a thing?) to more of a restification and I am wondering if there are reasonable sources of new side and quarter glass for Challengers? backlights? The only thing I know of that will not run a guy all the way into poverty is buying a new windshield and even at that they are thinner than original. Thanks for any insight,

Brett

Are you getting a quote for a windshield?  If so, tinted or not?  I need a clear windshield for a 70 Chally.  Maybe the company will give a break for two???

   :iagree:

Even the green doesn't offer much shading from the sun. I guess we should be lucky we can even get the original tinting considering we don't own Chebbies, or Ferds.   :lol2:

Just a thought though. If you don't care about originallity, maybe some local tint shop can help you out? I'm thinking about it.  :naughty:

OEM GLASS quoted this...

new tinted windshield-$305.00
side glass clear- $295 per side
back window $495.00
quarter glass - $245 per side

THEN $60 EACH WINDOW for factory Chrysler date code etching....

shipping $120.00 crated all together

I was warned that with cheap windshields - you get what you pay for...?? My shop just found a local guy who can polish all of my side glass, get new windshileds, and etch them for $40 each..we will see how this turns out.

I had a guy quote me 275 for tinted front windshield and installation.  He quoted me over 500 for a rear though :money: :faint:  So luckily I found a really good used one from around here, and just need to install it myself   Although I haven't tried asking for side glass at all, be surprised if you could find it, such funky curves to it :smilielol:
