rear brakes locking up.

I have a 69 roarrunner with 10" brakes. Every time I back up the adjusters tighten the brakes to much so when you try to go forward the right rear is locking up. The motor can turn it but not easy. I readjust and the same thing happens. My next thought was to remove the adjusters. With out them I could just adjust them in spring and I think that would work for the summer. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Todd

Have you replaced the springs , if they are weak the shoes could be moving too far in reverse , you certainly can remove the self adjuster cable & run without them but you have to check the adjustment or the pedal will drop down towards the floor

Hi, I had a 73 charger that would do that. Turned out to be a rusty e-brake cable going to
that wheel that wasn't returning all the way when the e-brake was released...causing the
adjuster to go crazy until it would lockup.Jeff
