I think what he means is, with all this new stuff - its just not a challenger anymore.

Dont get me wrong, I think its an amazing car - and Im sure the owner is going to be very happy with it, but it seems a bit strange to me to spend that much money replacing all of the old parts of this car, when you could simply go out and buy a new challenger (well not yet, but in the near future) with all the same bits, for far less.

I guess the best way of putting it is this:
Why buy an old house, completely gut it and replace everything - including exteror cladding, roof walls etc. when you can just build a new house, save yourself some money and get the same thing.

Watch out for the purists!
The wife and I went to look at a house that was built in 72 and it looked like it had all the original appliances and carpet. Shag, yellow fridge, old a$z stove, what were they thinking?
If we yould've bought it I guess some would cry about how we ruined the heritage if we put new carpet and apps. in it.
The house made me wanna puke. Original cars don't but there are some niceties of today that I would want incorporated into a classic.
