I just measured and if I were to put Lucy on - nope. With 275's on the rear and everything factory I measured 74" or 6ft-2" from the outside of the tire to tire. So, sorry to say but a 70" trailer will not work or be far too close.

I don't think NZ is too off the mark. :grinyes:

I just measure my car real quick.

'72 Challenger, 8 3/4 axle, 14" Magnum 500s (6" wide), 225/70R-14= about 71 inches.

NZ has wider tires so he's not off by much if off at all.

If it had narrow tires a 70" wide trailer MIGHT work.  Maybe if it had 215/70 series tires?  :dunno:

Need more input....  :faint:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Ok.....

I went back out to measure the front track of the car.  Fronts have 215/70R-14 tires on the previously stated Magnum 500s=70".

If I remember right, I have spacers in the rear, not sure of the thickness, maybe 1/4" per side, so 1/2" total.

Still need more input for cowboy.......  :1zhelp:  :faint:

That's what I got mate, you saying I can't measure!?!? :swear:   It may have to do with rear end weight & air pressure don't forget. My 275's are fully set to use every ounce of tread squashed down on to the road with the full 245 spare rim, cd changer, amp, floor jack etc etc in the back this would add around 1" overall. I'd say it was around 73-1/2" but to be safe I called it at 74". I know if I had a 70" trailer I wouldn't say a 69" car is safe. 1/2" either side is too close. Answer? Get a bigger trailer and remove any doubt. :bigshades:

I think you've got all the info you need and the answer is no, it won't fit your Challenger. 'Cuda measurements are different, they're a little narrower than Challengers. You've received two real world measurements from fellow Challenger owners both of which were over the 70" mark one more than the other but both over the 70" trailer in question.

NO, I aint saying you can’t measure....

Just hanging into the smallest hope... :clueless:

I'm just gonna skip the trailer...
I'm going to drive the car home, about 80 miles, thru a foreign country (Sweden), no licensplates,  - sure it will work out, nice and easy..
It has been in a container for 2 month, crossed the Atlantic, and properly, I'm sure, it's still "Turn key"...  :cooldancing:

I would say that NZ is dead nuts on the money - A friend of mine has a 72 inch wide trailer and my Challanger would have rubbed the hell out of my tires idf I would have tried to squeeze it on there.
