    What should we do with the bumpers? Bumper guards too? They are tarnished, a couple blems, rear bumper has an extra hole from the hitch. Don't we have a member here that has a bumper plating service somewhere near Toledo, OH? Maybe he could donate some plating. Due to expense and time probably won't be able to send them out to Tri city or other platers. I just can't remember his name(Darn CRS!)

    I checked the member map and the only two it shows near Toledo are tropicalcats and 71chmark. If your memory is right the user might not have added a pin to the map.

    If I remember right tropicalcats had bumpers and mirrors done by the guy. Maybe he can help.

    I contacted B & R Custom Chrome. They were unable to make ant type of donation. They did give me a 2 to 3 week turn around and a price of $260 per bumper. If we want the bumper guards redone $45 to $65 each. I know we can eliminate the front guards, but how do we hide the hole in the rear valance. It has also been suggested to paint the bumpers body color. IMO this may be too much body color and not look right.

    I've seen several cars with painted bumpers, and I like them. Back in 78 I had my 73 Cuda painted white, and all of the chrome flat black. It looked really cool.

    Plating is expensive, mainly because of the expense of the shop paying for the refuge waste (EPA regulations) from the process. Are not the replacement bumpers from Year One / Paddock etc. cheaper than the plating quote?  :dunno:  I know some don't care for bumper buddies (I think that's their name) but if they are contacted they can have exchange / replacement bumpers waiting at Carlisle. If all else falls through this may be a last ditch option.?


    BTW Just got back home, Tony, Don's dad and uncle and a couple other local guys are doing a bang up job on Don's Cuda, except for the few places Tony has shown, the car is nice and solid. And oh my, the amount of work they have done in just a few weeks, these men are kicking butt and doing a great job !   :cheers:  :2thumbs:

    Hey Guys, I have a near perfect '70 chrome front bumper I am willing to ship down, however, we need 70 front bumper brackets to make it work. If anyone will donate the brakets, I can send a nice bumper.   :2thumbs:
