painting an aluminum radiator

so, there are some companies that are making aluminum radiators now that have a "stock" appearance. I like these a lot but would like to go one step further and paint the radiator black to appear more "stock".

will painting an aluminum radiator affect its cooling properties at all?

Good question GreenFish. I have never really liked the look of a stock engine bay with an aluminum radiator. I'll be watching this one closely as the 'Cudas rad will be an aftermarket one.........

Exactly, i have an aluminum universal rad in my cuda but would perfer a stock looking rad.

I have heard that painting it does in fact impede its ability to cool the motor efficiently like it was designed. I cant remember where I saw it but I remember reading that on a post on another forum.

Eastwood has special paint for radiators that doesn't hold in the heat. Don't use regular spray paint. It's too thick.
