My vote is for a 318, around 300HP, for mileage..........................

I still think Im going to go with a hemi.  The 318 is respectable, and a good motor, but its still a 318.  Same with the 360.  I dont see how I would have a problem getting 20+ mpg with the hemi on the highway.  The truck only weighs 3800 lbs, with me in it!  The 5.7 wont have to work at all to pull it.

The V10 and the Cummins diesel use the same transmission, A-618/47RE, which is a different bellhousing bolt pattern than the small or big block.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

I have an 05 Durango with a 5.7 HEMI, I get around 20-23 mpg.  Good engine, if I had my choice for your situation I would go with a 383 or a 440.
