Yeah, wouldn't it be funny if the winning bidder was the all too often Deadbeat bidder that we see there.

Its hard to believe that there were originally 60 bidders then there had to at least be one other bidder for the price to get that high. Unless this guy jumped from like 1 million directly up to 9 million like I did at an auction. Of course it wasn't that amount of money, but the Girlfriend hasn't allowed me to go to an auction since then. Long story but you can probably figure it out - I don't have a lot of patience and hate to lose.

Wow, I watched it for a couple days and it was just chilling around $3.3 million for the longest time.  I heard they had a couple people bid outrageous amounts because they thought it was another scam...Hmm, wonder if eBay realized they should try to take more action against scammers on their auction board considering how many people thought the sale was just another scam. ::)

There is an autographed car like this someplace here in town.  The guy got it autographed at this big Dukes of Hazzard camp or convention thing you can sign up for at the price of like $1200.00 if I can remember who has or find the car I will get pics of all the signatures.  He has pictures of some of the people well they are leaned over signing it.

That has to be total BS. :screwy: No way would someone pay that much for a replica, it's not even the real McCoy!?! They/he/she could have saved him/herself, $9,932,500.00 and purchased a better condition clone car. I wonder if the buyer will only pay because he won't want a negative feedback.  I better pay 10 million as I "can't" get a 99% eBay feedback total.

:eek2:  After looking at the pics, it's a low quality resto at best.  I'll bet could buy a better General Lee resto and then pay for the signatures for less than a tenth the cost...   For that kind of money, Jessica Simpson better be in the back seat  :ylsuper:

What I think they are ( will be ? ) paying for is that it's a real General Lee and not a clone and it was owned by Bo Duke.  Still 10 Huge is a lot for even that.  I doubt even if it was from the original TV show it should have brought that much.  But what do I know ?

Surprise, Surprise, the bidder looks like they backed out.

Looks like someone "thought" they were buying a real General Lee.  The actual car was a resto by John Schneider and never appeared in any "Dukes" show.  It did appear in one of John Schneider's later movies and was used as the model for the cars built for the recent DoH movie.

I'm sure it's just of bunch of people entertaining themselves.  It's for the thrills. Lots of auctions have deadbeat bidders.  I think it's almost expected on a high profile one like this.  The fact that the car is worth less than $30K IMHO probably didn't help much.

I've seen the car and it is definitly a super nice example and with it's history and past  ownership it's probably one of the most valuable Bs in the world but I don't know if it's worth over a million  :dunno:

It's really bada$$ in person.  Much better then any other GL I've ever seen and really cool to see John driving by in it.

If any of the other bidders were real they should step up and buy it on a second chance

I saw one on a site not too long ago fo $35k, and it had all of the signatures as well as pictures. The signatures had been cleared over to protect them. Go Figure!

No suprise that the bidder backed out, that's way over the top, even though it's a real General.  It wasn't on TV, but it was the one used in the "Dukes Go to Hollywood" movie.

I bet the movie rights would go for less. :roflsmiley:
