You mean it costs you $5000 to get a car registered? Or is it just something to do with classic cars?

The tax to register a car is 180 %..

On classic cars, more than 35 years, it is - 180 % of - 40% of price from new..

If a 1971 car was priced at $5000, add. shipping, import tax and dealers profit = $ 8000
40 % of that $ 3200 - You have to pay 180 % in registration tax..

Thats why Denmark is full of cheap crappy Koreian cars...

wow , i just put a perminant plate on my duster. $160  I already owned the car so the tax was all paid prior. it will never have to see any smog testing as it has hobbyist plates. in other words a modified car that does not have to be tested or inspected can not be used as a primairy vehicle.
