Reality Motor Build
« on: May 04, 2007 - 10:45:39 PM »
Well I am no Expert but this website has taught me a lot and I read a lot and the time is almost here to build my first motor!

My plan is to start with a bare block and go from there! I will post my progress everytime I work on the motor etc... up to first start up.... And guess what... some of you experts will help me on it as well! if ya feel like answering my questions that is... lol ... I will have some local help/specialty tools needed as well but I always get more than one opinion!
This is a race engine and not for my 499 Street StROkEd Challenger!
The motor is a 302 ford and I am going to install it in my 93 mustang....anyone wanna help me out ???

I didnt think so ...  :horse: lol  :villagers: :villagers: :villagers: :villagers: JUST KIDDING

Well how about an all aluminum Indy Maxx Block  :woo: yes the block is here and already machined  :woohoo:
The Indy Maxx Block will be supported with Indy 440-1 fully ported heads!  :burnout:

Ya know what my favorite part of the block is ??? hmmmmm ... the screw in aluminum FREEZE PLUGS .... lol (inside joke)

I'll post as much as I can when I get started!

 :burnout:

Maybe they forgot to use it.  :roflsmiley: Are the bores finish honed for your exact pistons?

Looking good  Were you able to pick the bare block up by yourself? I know a bare cast big block is around 220 lbs, what does that beast weigh in at? Nothing like massive cubic inches with the weight of a small block :burnout:

Indy's in house amchining s_cks. So, check the main bores (you know need work), check the bores for correct placement and straightness, have it honed because it's too rough, and have the deck squareness and height checked. Should have bought a KB...they are a hair more money, but come ready to wash and assemble. Very nice stuff.

Ever take a gander at Mopar's sprint car small block program. They look a lot like that big block, only smaller.
