Tips on installing Hughes 440 valley tray please
« on: May 16, 2007 - 11:29:22 AM »
I had my engine builder use the hughes 1pc valley tray with the separate manifold flange gaskets. But he never used it before. So now I get to fix it. It is leaking oil from under the intake which I believe is from the seam between the intake and the valley tray.

Since I havent done one of these before, what is the proper way of sealing this up. I was going to pull the intake and gaskets off, then lay a bead of clear silicone in the seam where the new gasket and tray meet up, then reassemble. What size diameter bead should I lay down? Any tips on this?

Thanks
Terry
