Differences between 70 and 71+ challenger doors?
« on: May 21, 2007 - 01:17:05 PM »
For a car to look correct, being a 70, I'm not talking concours, judged show car here, just a nice street/weekend cruise/shows car... would a 71+ door physically look the same?  I remember reaing about the differences, the strip is screwed on as opposed to clips on top, anything else?  Thanks

On the outside they look the same. I believe the internals are different on the later years(not sure if 71 qualifies). What I know is the 70 door panels had the trim on top slipped on. Later years had it screwed on. No biggie as far as appearance goes.

I believe the inner brace is different also, but like you said looks the same.  Anyone knows what internals interchange?  Hopefully the 70 doors pan out, thanks for the help

The 1970 doors have more holes at the bottom for door panel clips than the 1971 doors. They do not show though.......

I have 2 - 70' doors on my 71', and 1 - 70' door panel and 1 - 71' door panel...they work dandy.  Dunno what year window tracks I have in the doors. :dunno:
