70 Heater Control Valve Question
« on: May 25, 2007 - 12:56:46 PM »
I am working on my 70 Challenger that had factory A/C originally. At some point sombody pulled everything out from the engine compartment. I am trying to put the A/C system back together in the car and have run into a couple of things I am not sure about. I was told that the 70's have a cable operated heater control valve and I found one at a swap meet. When I went to install it I can't find the cable that controls it - where does this cable come through the firewall? I also see a vacuum hose that comes thru the firewall just below/beside the blower fan motor - any idea what this would go to?

Thanks for any info!

The wire to control the water valve comes from out under the brake master pump. it is hooked up at the heater control leaver. As for the vacuum hose it should go to the intake (to get vacuum) if you don't have power brake. If you have power brakes it should go to the brake booster. On the small nipple next to the main hose for the vacuum to the booster.
