1972 challenger 1500.00!! tag and number stamps
« on: February 27, 2008 - 04:07:10 PM »

1973 challenger,  rust bucket from Ohio.  Needs floors and rear rails.  Just getting to the point of checking the fronts as I was in the process of tearing it apart before disaster struck.  Relatively complete car minus drive train and rear end.  Numbers match other wise.  Completely torn apart.  Got 2000 into it now. Will sacrifice it for 1500.00.  Door sticker is there.  Fender tag is there.  All numbers match on the radiator and cowl.  No build sheet.  Even though it has some problems I feel it will transport on a trailer fine.  Will add pics as I go out and get them.
Very early production car for 1972.  Complete interior.  Buckets and gold console.  All panels have been painted black but they aren't done very well so I believe that I could strip them and get the original color back.  The front has a pair of Urethane molded wheels.  Have emissions sticker.  Car has title from last owner, just havn't switched to my name yet.

Here are some more pics.  Please ask if you want any more pics of any specific area.  The doors are in excellent shape.
Most everything I have taken off the car has been cleaned.

I will drop the price to 1000.00.  Come and pick it up.  If you want it shipped I will make sure that all the parts are boxed and will not fall out of the car.  By the way all the bolts are bagged and tagged for where they went.
  Thanks for looking.

It really is a good project.  I purchased it so that I could get a little bit of time doing real rust repairs so that I can do my AAR and my M46 barracuda properly.  That and I havn't done a challenger yet.  Not to mention that the price was just right.  I did mention that I do have 2000.00 into it at this point.  Shipping can't be more than 1500.00 or so anywhere in America.  2500.00 for a mostly complete challenger project is a very reasonable price. I just wish that more people were interested right now.  I know in a month or two that people will be crawling the walls looking for projects like this.  On the bright side if it doesn't sale now I am sure it will sale in a few months.  Hope it sales now though.

I just have such a hard time believing that noone wants this.  Is there something wrong with it other than the rust repair?  Is it because I am way up here in the beautiful Rockies?  What can I do to sale this thing?
  thanks

I think a large part of it is the current economy. If I had the money I would definately buy that car because it is a good deal.

yeah I am       ok       I guess.  Still pretty down.  Sold all my mopars except the M46 down in your neck of the woods and my 73.  Still taking calls and have several people coming to look at it.  Sold a Grand Prix to a guy in Germany.  Paid in full and hasn't come to get it yet.  Trying to liquidate everything, except maybe that M46.  I am here everyday to check in, just can't buy any parts I want right now.  Still very far in debt from the disaster.
Maybe I will come down and see ya when I go to my families in Springville this summer.   Don't know when I am going yet but probably September, maybe July.  You gonna be around?  I would love to see that beautiful car of yours.

Hi Josh.
Good to hear from you. Glad to hear that you have been able to sell some of your vehicles. You have been in my thoughts and prayers.  :angelwings:I hope things turn around for you and your family. We don't always understand things, but God is still in control and he loves you. I am on the east coast, but if there is any way that I might help out, just ask. There was just a post here I think today by Hemiken about some folks out in CA that helped him get some parts to the land down unda!! That just goes to show this group here cares and will help out when able!! I wish you & your family the best!!

I will most definately try to keep my schedule clear on the week you come to visit. And you can take my car out for a spin and try it out yourself. If you need to get your m46 car out of the weather, I still have room in my shop to put it up against a wall high and dry.  Good hearing from you...
