How bout them prices eh?

I know how we love to complain, but the fact is we are spoiled here in the USA, we have the lowest gas prices in the world and we always have.  Go to Europe or even the Great White North and compare...our prices have historically always been lower. 

That may be true in in many countries in Eurpoe, but most of the oil producing countries in the Middle East and South America provide gas to their citizens at extremely low cost, like $.05 - $.50 per gallon. The oil companies pump out ours and sell it on the world market first, not giving anything to the citizens of this country. I know they use a lot less than we do, but everything here is strictly for profit, without any benefit to us.

Point well taken jeryst, but I was talking about free-market countries, not oppressive autocracies (as in the middle-east, or socialist countries (as in South America), neither are completely free-market economies (Venezuela for example).  My bad, I should have been more specific.
