Are 70 Challenger doors worth more than 73 doors?
« on: May 15, 2007 - 07:50:36 PM »
When I was looking for 73 doors, I couldn't find any, so I wound up with a killer set of 70 doors. Windows, reguilator, doorpanels, handles, the whole works. They also have the chrome and black trim running the full length of the doors.

I ran across someone that has a nice set of 73 doors from down south. Includes windows and regulators. He needs 70 doors.

Would this be a fair trade?

There are minor differences between them, but if you want the 73's, then do the trade.  :2cents:

These are in fantastic shape, and I will only get rid of them if I can trade for 73 doors in same shape. Will probably be going on the car in the next few weeks because I checked out the 73 doors that i was considering and they need some work.

I maybe able to get you the later doors, need to do some dealing... arent 71-74 the same?  I'll see what I have, but really prefer to get the 70 doors, last thing I really need.

How can I tell if these are really 79 doors? That's what the guy told me when I bought them, but they have been sitting in his basement for over 25 years.

I'm not 100% sure :roflsmiley:  Something about the number of holes on the door for the panel and the way the felt strip or whatever its called is mounted.  I believe the internals are somewhat different and the bracing inside is different.  Not alot really, but when your try to keep it correct, theres are a few things.

I didn't see that somebody brought this up.   The 70 door's latch mechanism doesn't allow you to lock the door then shut it.   You have to lock it with the key, or from the inside.   Something that I always change over on a 70 , just like changing out left hand lugnuts and points distributors.
