Transmission Shield

I'm thinking of getting a transmission shield for my car which is going to be a big block e-body with a 727 transmission.  I'm not very familiar with this item so I don't know who sells them or who makes the best product for my car.  Could you guys bring me up to speed?   :feedback:

I always thought those were mostly for manual trans.?

 :burnout:  I was thinking of that very same shield tactransman!  I was wondering if that particular example required any special modification to the transmission tunnel when added to the transmission.  I looks like it will be a nice tight fit but if it isn't I'd appreciate knowing about it ahead of time instead of when I'm in the middle of putting the transmission back in the car.   I'm driving a 1970 challenger with the floor console.  There isn't anything special I need to be aware of with the linkage is there?  ???

It should be fine on an E-body tunnel. I have had to grind on some cases to get the bellhousing bolts to align at one time with the holes in the shield,other cases took no grinding at all. You have to cut off the two "tabs" on each side of the case by the bellhousing,but that was easy. :thumbsup:

:bigsmile: Thanks.  I guess I'm going to order the part now.  Your help is really appreciated.  I can't tell you how often this year I've bought a part for my car and then found it wasn't going to work the way I envisioned.  So I've become very leary of jumping in without some feedback on whether the part I'm contemplating will work the way I hope.  So your feedback really meant alot to me.  It seems like every part I buy today is at least $400 and it hurts when I blow it buying something. Many thanks once again.   :thumbsup:

Let me know if you have any problems,none of my customers have said anything about tunnel problems on an E-body,A-body would have problems. But every car is a little different too.
