How is your engine put together?  What heads, intake, carb, igintion, compression do you have?  What gear are you running and what type of trans is in the car?  From what I can tell about the specs on crane's website (listed below), this would be a good cam for an almost stock engine.

Valve Setting: Intake .000 Exhaust .000 HOT

Lift: Intake @Cam 3027 @Valve 454 All Lifts are based
on zero lash and theoretical rocker arm ratios.
  Exhaust @ Cam 3027 @Valve 454
Rocker Arm Ratio 1.5

Cam Timing: TAPPET @.004
Lift:   Opens Closes ADV Duration
  Intake 27 BTDC 65 ABDC 272 °
  Exhaust 67 BBDC 25 ATDC 272 °

Spring Requirements:   Triple   Dual   Outer   Inner
Part Number 99835
Loads Closed 113 LBS @ 1.600 or 1 19/32
  Open 290 LBS @ 1.170
Recommended RPM range with matching components
Minimum RPM 1800
Maximum RPM 5200
Valve Float 5800

Cam Timing: TAPPET @.050
Lift:   Opens Closes Max Lift Duration
Intake 3 BTDC 33 ABDC 105 216 °
Exhaust 43 BBDC (7) BTDC 115 216 °

A side note, I found this on a cam chart on the internet.  It is the stock cam specs for a 68 340 equipped with a manual trans.

duration @.050          valve lift            lsa            valve lash
A Eng.   P3412044     68 340 Man.-114      276/284      .444/.453"   112      Zero

Wouldn`t be my choice , I would use a more modern grind like a K54 Engle , it will idle like stock & work better

True, the Engles are good pieces, but I am partial to custom designs. I haven't used an off-the-shelf camshaft gring since 1988.

The camshaft you describe would be a good choice for a stock engine and perhaps, even a mildly modified one. To be sure you get the right profile, you would need to describe your entire combination to include how you will drive the car. For your compression, carburetion and street useage, I would probably use employ .450"/.450" lift and 215°/221° @ .050" on a 110.5° LSA.

That's just a ballpark guesstimate, but I have used this camshaft in 273's with very good results...Robert
