quick question...
sanity check on valve geometry and adjustments:
the cam/lifters are hydraulic.
915 heads with new oversize valves are almost ready to come home from machine shop. in talking about it with them, they said the valves they got for me were a little longer than usual and that they needed to use some special valve keepers and then add a few valve spring shims to get the spring pressure right.
MY CONCERN:
if the valves are physically longer, and the valvetrain (stock rocker arm and pushrod stuff) for a 4440 is non-adjustable... are the longer valves going to cause a problem in either not closing all the way and/or hitting the piston (when normally they would not)
or do the hydraulic tappets compensate for this ?
thanks,
Robb
