Hey Y'all...Car in shop

I just wanted to say "hey" to everyone and let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth!  After much research, negotiating, selling my first born (lol), etc., I have put my 1971 Barracuda convertible in the hands of a body shop for some body work and eventual paint.  I decided to do all of the body work and paint first before finishing the interior and top thanks to all of the input I received from y'all.  Thanks for all of the responses regarding your opinion on this subject.

I have stripped the car from the doors back and they will be doing the bodywork and primer work.  They will also be cutting out a 18"x18" section of the trunk floor on the left side and replacing it with a trunk floor from Year One.    Dropped it off to them last Wednesday (11/12/03) and checked on it today.  All that has happened is that it has accumulated sanding dust from other cars to this point  .  

I am looking forward to seeing the completed work so I can continue to strip the car and move forward (we hope!).

Nothing like progress......
Can't wait to see it! My car is also going in for it's long awaited paint in 2-3 weeks   Then interior, engine work and I'll be looking at March/April - (touch wood)

Most excellent!! If you read my signature... my 'Cuda is going to be moved for the first time in a year and a half!!! Once I do some more sanding myself, it's off to the body shop for blasting, then back home for the body work!! I've just started a 2nd job to help pay for all this... hehe!!

DropTopGirl, congrats on the progress!!!!  Like Rev has said, hopefully they'll get it out much sooner than that.  Mine is going on 4 months in the shop without one single thing done to it yet...  But it'll be worth the wait because the guys are busy finishing up their new shop and my car will be privilaged to be their first restoration job in the new facility.  For those of you still wondering why I would continue to let my car sit for so long at this shop, we know the owner/worker quite well and know just how nice his quality is.
Good luck and be sure to keep us updated with plenty of photos when it's out of the shop.
