shift linkage
« on: June 10, 2007 - 11:38:07 AM »
I am putting the 4-speed tranny back in the car after getting it back from the transmission rebuild. I don't know what you call them but I have a question about the 3 small connections on the side of the tranny that the linkage attaches. I don't remember when I pulled the linkages off but it seems now the connections are not sticking out as far from the transmission and so the cut out in the linkage plate is only slipping about half way on the 'wings' of the connection. It would seem to me that it should fit further on so there is a good solid connection. Sorry for not using the correct terminology here and it may be abit confusing. Can't seem to locate my digital otherwise I would take some pics.

They do slide in and out some when not bolted up. You should be able to pull them out easy or just install and tighten and they will pull out :2thumbs:
