I use K & N - nice heavy-duty filter in my opinion.


The Beast uses K & N also.  Seem to be nice filters.....    :bigshades:

I've said it before WIX/Napa gold/top of the line carquest(alll wix) There was a fram on Nikki when I brought here home... guess what was the first alteration she had?

I agree, Wix.
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

 :aarg: People your WIX Napa Gold are good filters. We use them on our race car. I am tired of blowen filters! I have used most of the filters out there, the oil and filter are changed every run. The filters are cut open and inspected. The elements rupture cans swell and by-pass valves screw up. 5 years ago i went to a higher pressure oiling system started using Napa Gold, we have not had a filter failure since. Aprox. 165 filters. A plus for me is they are not expensive. I feel the proof is in the pudding. I also use a WIX cart. in my 440-6. I had many failures with Fram and they were free to me. GOOD LUCK!

Fram filters are terrible.  I work at the parts store and we were bored one day so we cut a few filters open to compare them.  Our store brand filters are superior to the fram filters :roflsmiley:.  If a customer really asks about the differences in the filters, we get out the ones we performed surgery on to show them.  :bigsmile:   I run a purolator pure one filter on my 'Cuda, and its one of the best we sell, and being about 5-6 bucks for these filters, they won't break the bank.
