Does anyone know if you're able to move the front seat back at all? Obvsiously, I've extended it as far back as the track will allow, but i'm still too close to the wheel. Are there additional mounting holes under there to move the seat, or will I have to get creative?

You will have to get creative.
Some fixes include using the shorter B-body steering wheel "can" Or even bolting the steering wheel to one of those super short Grant GT adaptors. I have that on my old race car and it puts the wheel right up on the dash. If you use a stock wheel for that you will be drilling some holes in it.
Of course using a smaller diameter wheel like a tuff clone wheel helps too. If you want to read the gauges you can shim the steering column down a little with washers and you could shim the seat a bit front or back depending what is more comfortable.
If that doesn't work, it's time to get out the welder and cutter....

you will need to add reinforcement plates unde tthe floor to keep the front bolts from pulling through if you move the seat back further

I think I would just modify the seat brackets to move the mounting studs.

I was reading about seat track extenders that they have for old Rustangs. I couldn't find them for any other make though. Any chance of those fitting up to the same bolt pattern?

You could possibly get 1/2" by bolting the seat a little down the seat tracks. Like Chryco said, if you want to drill holes in the floor you need to come up with braces.

Yeah, I know... Heh. Well, if I do drill the holes, all I pretty much need is some flat stock underneat the floor, right? Just something to distribute the forces evenly. I think I saw that in one of the car magazines.. a how-to or something.

A tilt column would be nice, but the $$$$ is a little rediculous. I just looked.. $450. I would rather put that money into EFI and craft some brackets. Especially since I just rebuilt all the insides of the column. It's a good idea tho, and would make things more comfortable. Maybe down the road...
The other thing I could do is to get one of those grant kits that has the shorter adapter. But then I have to change the steering wheel.
Tough call.

If you still want a factory look you can use the Grant wheel that looks like the Tuff Wheel. I looked at an Grant adapter I have here. It looks like you may be able to redrill it to the Challenger wheel mounting holes and be able to use the factory wheel also. I haven't tried it but it looks like it may work. If not a machinist could easily make a new mounting plate for the Grant kit that would work. I made a new plate and mounted a Nardi Wood Wheel from a Ferrarri in my Challenger Convertible.

Something I discovered while trying to get more legroom in my GT is if you jack the front of the seat up a little it gives the effect of being farthur back. Your shoulders are farther back & your legs are able to bend more..

Lots of good suggestions here. I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow and see if I can come up with something. I'll try the "free" routes first.. if one more package shows up at the house, my wife will have my head. Hahaha..
