The headliner in my T/A is factory perfect. What should be done to take care of a headliner?

Is it cloth or vinyl?   If cloth I would not recommend touching it...my '73 looked good except for a few spots, when I tried to gently clean it turned out that he cloth was dry rotted & split open. This car had spent the last 25 years indoors.   Most everything I've read that the factory recommended back when was damp cloth or damp cloth with warm very diluted dish washing liquid.

It's cloth. I'm really concerned  about the stitching. It looks really thin and dont want to break the line.

What about it needs cleaning?  Mine was black but had a brownish look in between the ribs...I think that was natural fading, if that's your problem maybe spray with dye.
