Boy, talk about bad luck.
I live in eastern Virginia near Cheaspeake. We had a fatal car accident here just the other day where a stolen SUV Ford Excursion ran off the interstate after a high speed chase. During the police pursuit, the driver lost control & wrecked in the woods just off the interstate. He was killed and 3 others injured. Here's the crazy part. The owner of the SUV got a call early in the morning by the police telling him his brand new 2008 Chevy Impala with only 18 miles on it; (not the SUV) had been stolen and was involved in an accident.
The driver of that car was pinned & had to be cut out. The passenger bolted and was later caught. The owner goes around back & notices that his SUV Ford Excursion was also missing!!!
Of course he later finds out it was also wrecked and one person died!!
It seems that the owner who resides in a very isolated area of Yorktown leaves the keys in his cars figuring it's Ok in his neck of the woods!!
This is 2007. Not a wise choice. I REALLY feel sorry for this guy!! You can check out the whole story at
