Foose/Unique Performance
« on: June 14, 2007 - 11:31:43 AM »
I hear tell of a car that the Good-Guys are giving away that Foose and Unique Performance were co-builders on. I was told that the interior was lacking in areas where the material was not finished well. It is also said that the rear axle is shifted more to one side where you can fit one finger between the tire and quarter, but the other side you can fit two fingers. Has anyone seen this car, or will they see it at the next Good-Guys show? Can you report back as to your findings? I can't imagine Foose would let that go out the door in that condition. It seems odd.

No but I saw a Foose built '71 challenger up close at the Spring Fling in So Cal a couple yesrs back and the body work was wavy and looked second-rate...the paint was nice though.

I saw this car (the yellow one) at the Colorado Good Guys show a couple of weeks ago. I do have some pictures of it. I need to download them when I'm at home. I didn't notice the side to side difference although I didn't look that close. I really don't know if Foose has much to do with the actual build. I think the original "look" came from the green Challenger he did on overhauling a couple of years back. Unique does the Eleneor (sp?) Mustang clone cars and the Camaros foose designed if I recall correctly. All are expensive. They build these in limited number for sale.

The overall build looked ok. I wouldn't turn it down. There are definitely some areas in the interior and engine compartment that look so so for an expensive car. It looked like it had air bags on it. I'll have to check my pictures to see if was bags or just coil overs. This one had a 426 based hemi in it. All the trim was painted. No mirrors. Big, big wheels.

Again, I wouldn't mind winning it or owning it. But it's definitely not on the level of a  100% Foose built car. I saw his latest Ridler Award car last year and that thing is amazing.

Here's a couple of pictures of the car.
I only have the one side of the tire/suspension so I wouldn't be able to tell you about any differences wheel to wheel since I wasn't looking for that.

I dont know if it is puke inspiring or not but I have noticed that his mopar builds all tend to have the same theme on the stripes. Not only that but they always seem to be some massacred version of a factory stripe
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!
1970 Challenger (OO########OO) long ways off

:iagree: I know Foose has built some nice customs, but that yellow/black Chally looks like crap. He's watching to many Fast & Furious movies.
