Just what I need, another project.
I couldn't pass this one up though.
I got a great deal on a 89 wrangler that was poked lightly in the passenger side. The only thing I needed to do mechanically was put in a new timing chain and tensioner. Really easy job on the 2.5 amc. Once the fan is removed, you can literally stand inside the engine compartment
All cars should be this easy to work on.
I put a new floor pan and rocker on the drivers side last week. Yesterday I pulled the passenger side and tacked new metal on the side. The sheet metal on the passenger side came to a grand total of $23 from JC whitney. Got to love that.
The only things I need to do structure wise are get a new bolt for the front passenger body mount and get a new front passenger leaf.
As far as interior. No need to buy new carpets or seat covers, Just pressure washed the original stuff with dish soap, let dry, and dye them black with Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric dye. They look brand new now. The previous owner put a new top on the thing not too long ago..big score!
I'm going to put the Fury on hold for a couple of weeks and try to get this thing ready for the road before it gets warm here. I'll be doing some bondo work over the next couple weeks... after that, I'll throw some wheels and a single stage of white on it and we'll be ready to roll.
I'll post pictutes as I go along.
