The first thing to check is your adjustment. the best way is to get under the car and make sure you have enough slack before engagment. just pushing the clutch pedal won't tell you much if your linkage has much wear.

noise at idle is not right
if the clutch is out of adjustment & the throwout brg is running all the time this would be why it has failed & is making noise , if the clutch is adjusted then possibly the input shaft brg or the counter shaft in the tranny is making noise

We'll I must have mis-adjusted the pedal.I moved it in-line with the brake pedal.otherwise it is low.I'm going to back it off. Make sure I get the play. How low is the clutch pedal supposed to be ?  :working:

Your clutch pedal should be a little lower than the brake, but as long as you have some free play it shouldn't matter much. like Chryco says you shouldn't  have noticable noise in your throw out anyway, but if it's not real bad and you adjust it right you might get by for some time.

Look at the bearing through the inspection cover. The bearing should not be touching the clutch fingers when fully released.  The bellhousing spring should keep it pulled away if the pedal linkage isn't too tight.
