What date should be on door vin sticker?

I need to get a replacement door VIN/mfg. date sticker made for my cuda. How does the date on the door sticker relate to the date on my fender tag? Are they always the same month?

My fender tage says 312 (March 12) and the door sticker says 3-1970.

Fender tag date is just a schedule build date. Door sticker is actual date. If a car is supposed to be built say on Nov.1st and maybe they ran out of dash pads or seats it would not get the door sticker until it was completed. My Challenger has a build date( fender tag) of Nov. 20th but my door decal says built Dec. 1969.

  My 86 D250 has a scheduled build date of 6 28 with the ddor sticker showing 7 86.
