Seat tracks for a 73 Challenger
« on: June 24, 2007 - 08:47:29 PM »
Anybody got any pics of their seat tracks?  Mine seem a little "off".  It looks like they (like alot of the car) aren't correct for the car.  One side has several washers and metal blocks to lift it up to try to get it level with the other side.  I don't think it is normal and part of the creative engineering that went into my car.

Sounds like you have B-body seat tracks on there.  Do you have any pics of the seats?

Str0kEr, I responded to your PM.

I snapped a few pics of the seats, but didn't get a chance to upload them before work.  It wouldn't surprise me that they are B-body seats and tracks since most everything else has been from a B-body (radiator, transmission engine)

Pics of the seats, hopefully they can be identified.

I did alot of work on the car this weekend.  I welded in new floor boards (I took pics before I carpeted, but I didn't have the memory card in the camera, oops), I put down sound insulation as well as heat insulation and the new carpet.  I also went around and welded in all extraneous screw holes made by the previous owner.  As an added bonus I made proper connections for the speakers and the stereo (the previous owner was using screw cap connectors for many wire connections).

I have a '73 Challey w/OE seats & mine do not have the release button on the side, rather a lever at the rear. Do your seats have hard plastic backs? Mine are not plastic just covered in vinyl. Your upholstery is like mine in style & material.

I replaced my seat belts with over the shoulder 3 point belts from Wesco Performance.  I did what one of the forum members did and got their Van setup.  I lets the belt rest across my shoulder instead of coming straight across my face.  I will eventually get a set of their retractable lap belts for the rears.

My seats do not have the hard plastic backs.  Lever on the side is to slide the seats forward and back, the push button is to fold the seat over.  Maybe just the tracks are out of a B-body.

my 73 chally also has the seat lever on the side and the seat release button on the side toward the back of the seat like the pic. I can take a pic of the track if you like, but it is hard to see with the seat in place.

Pic of '73 seats...see the release lever in back rather than button on side.
